Two members of London’s Chelsea Lodge, the Masonic home for members of the entertainment industry, musicians Ray Dorset and Bro Elliott Randall have been awarded honorary membership of Mitropolit Stratimirvoc Lodge in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Ray Dorset, is the founder of Mungo Jerry. Their smash hit, “In The Summertime” Ray only ten minutes to compose on a second-hand Fender Stratocaster. Ray maintains a solo career parallel to his leadership of Mungo Jerry. His track “Feels Like I’m in Love”, was originally written for Elvis Presley, who died before the song could be recorded. In 1979 it was recorded by disco singer Kelly Marie, and became a UK Number one. Making Ray one of the first songwriters to top the UK Singles Chart with singles performed by himself, and by another musician.

Elliott Randall played the well-known guitar solos for Steely Dan’s song “Reelin’ in the Years” and Irene Cara’s song “Fame”. It was reported that Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page said Randall’s solo on “Reelin’ in the Years” is his favourite guitar solo of all-time. In his career Elliott has worked with Richie Havens, The Capris. The Ronnettes, Jay and the Americans. The Doobie Brothers, Tom Rush, Elkie Brooks, Carly Simon, Carl Wilson, Peter Wolf, Peter Frampton, James Galway, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and The American Symphony Orchestra. John Belushi asked Randall to be musical director for The Blues Brothers.
